Alex Loran is a passionate saxophonist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Denver, Colorado. A graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder's Thompson Jazz Studies Program, she has performed with artists such as Dave Holland, Nick Smart, and Greg Gisbert, and can be heard on the Brad Goode Polytonal Big Band’s record *The Snake Charmer*. Equally at home on soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones—as well as flute and vocals—Alex leads her own groups and has written for both big bands and small ensembles. Her debut album *The Quest* showcases six original compositions for octet, highlighting her distinctive compositional voice.
